International Commission on Microbiological Specifications for Foods (ICMSF)

ICMSF was initiated during the International Microbiology Congress in Montreal in 1962, by a small task force. Initially it was planned as 'a separate Commission within the ICFMH to deal with the rational elaboration of microbiological reference ranges for foods'.

This Commission soon developed into a large and independent structure, well-known and respected on the national and international levels. For more information, visit

ICFMH2018’ Southeast Asian Microbial Food Safety Workshop held in Siem Reap, Cambodia

ICFMH organized a microbial food safety workshop in Siem Reap, Cambodia from August 13-16, 2018. The main goal was to assist in improving the food safety standards in the Southeast Asian region towards local and global markets. Joining the workshop were twenty-nine participants from six Southeast Asian countries (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines and Vietnam).
