ICMSF was initiated during the International Microbiology Congress in Montreal in 1962, by a small task force. Initially it was planned as 'a separate Commission within the ICFMH to deal with the rational elaboration of microbiological reference ranges for foods'.
This Commission soon developed into a large and independent structure, well-known and respected on the national and international levels. For more information, visit www.icmsf.iit.edu
