The ICFMH aims to promote the mobility of young researchers by supporting short-term visit at research institutions active in the field of food microbiology and hygiene. The ICFMH sponsors mobility grants as short-term fellowships to assist young scientists in pursuing research at a host laboratory.

ICFMH organized a microbial food safety workshop in Siem Reap, Cambodia from August 13-16, 2018. The main goal was to assist in improving the food safety standards in the Southeast Asian region towards local and global markets. Joining the workshop were twenty-nine participants from six Southeast Asian countries (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines and Vietnam).
