ICFMH co-organised the 5th IUMS Outreach Program in Indonesia

ICFMH co-organised the International Union of Microbiological Societies (IUMS) in its mission for developing countries: the 5th IUMS Outreach Program: Advances in Food Safety and Microbiology which took place in Yogyakarta, Indonesia in January 19-21, 2017.

ICFMH sponsored six experts with contribution of 11 lectures by Drs. Sara Bover-Cid (Spain), Luca Cocolin (Italy), Bent Dixon (Canada), Weihuan Fang (China), Andreja Rajkovic (Belgium) and Vasilis Valdramidis (Malta). There were over 200 participants from 14 countries. The program focused on novel technologies, such as next generation sequencing and metagenomic approaches, for identification of foodborne pathogens (bacteria, fungi and parasites), risk assessment of foodborne hazards including mycotoxins, predictive microbiology, and process control by high pressure and sanitization, etc. It was the second time that ICFMH participated in the program. ICFMH joined the 2nd IUMS outreach program on Food Safety in June 22-24, 2011 at the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, Bali, Indonesia.
